Libby has over 13 years of  experience as she studied for her legal qualifications part time whilst working as a legal advisor for a large multinational law firm. Libby qualified as a Solicitor in 2012 and after working for a large national litigation firm joined Backhouse Jones in 2015 as a member of the Dispute Resolution team, specialising in Commercial Litigation.

Now ‘Head of the Dispute Resolution’ team, Libby advises on transport specific commercial disputes ranging from public law disputes, concessionary reimbursement, challenging awards on public contracts, clandestine entrants and Border Force issues to sales of goods, debt recovery, disputes with insurers due to refusal to indemnify, HM Revenue & Customs disputes, professional negligence claims and high value recoveries.

Libby has an array of experience in business disputes ranging from challenging decisions of public authorities to large breach of contract claims. During Libby’s time at Backhouse Jones she has gained unique experience by dealing with numerous sector specific claims including challenging Department for Transport concessionary fare scheme documents and the judicial review of the decision to close Deansgate, Manchester to traffic.

Libby is also a trained Mediator, assisting clients in resolving disputes efficiently whilst reducing the risk of escalation and additional costs associated with litigation.

Outside of work Libby enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and enjoys both cooking and eating good food which she counteracts with the odd run!
