Refund Policy

We have selected WorldPay to manage the processing of online payments through our website.

With WorldPay, you are provided with a variety of options for payment for Backhouse Jones services. This includes Visa Credit, Visa Debit, MasterCard Credit, MasterCard Debit, Visa Electron, Maestro and JCB.

Where a payment has clearly been made to us in error then it is our aim to refund our clients promptly and within three working days of request in any event.

Subject to your statutory rights, it is not the policy of the firm to issue refunds once legal work is completed or once disbursements have been paid or a liability for disbursements has been incurred.

Where payments have been made on account or via Worldpay and you request a return of the money, we will refund any money due to you after deducting any direct costs to us associated with the processing of your payment and the processing of any refund, and also any fees (including VAT and disbursements) to which we are entitled in accordance with your instructions up to the date of your request for a refund.

If you would like to request a refund of an online payment, please contact our Accounts Manager on 01254 828300 or by e-mail noting where possible your client reference, the date and amount of any payment made and an explanation of the reason for the refund request.

Please note that refunds will be assessed on a case by case basis, and with specific reference to the Money Laundering Regulations 2017.
