Following on from Company Tachograph Card transactions being able to be dealt with online, the DVSA has published that most Driver Tachograph Card transactions can now also be completed online here.
Drivers can:
- Apply for their first GB digital tachograph card.
- Renew a card if it’s expiring within 90 days.
- Replace a lost or stolen card.
It costs:
- £32 for your first GB driver digital tachograph card.
- £19 to renew an expired card.
- £19 to replace a lost or stolen card.
- £32 to change an EU, EEA or Northern Ireland tachograph card to a GB tachograph card.
In order to use the service a driver will need:
- A GB photocard driving licence.
- Their driving licence number.
- A credit or debit card.
Make sure the address on the driving licence is correct because the tachograph card will be sent to the address on the driving licence.
Your driver tachograph card will have a photograph and a digital copy of your signature on it. DVLA will use the photograph and signature from your photocard driving licence if you have one.
The online portal does not allow a driver to report a faulty, lost or damaged tachograph card. This should be done by calling DVLA 0300 790 6109 and a new card must be applied for with 7 days.
