DVSA reminder: Have you updated your Operator Licence contact details?

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has issued an important reminder to all operator licence holders: check that your contact details are accurate and up to date.

If you hold an Operator’s Licence, the correspondence email address, telephone number and postal address recorded on your licence must be correct. Failure to keep these details updated could mean you miss important communication from the Traffic Commissioner – including matters that may directly affect your licence.

Why this matters

DVSA now issues prohibition notices and prohibition clearance notices by email. These are sent to the correspondence email address registered on your Operator Licence and include a secure link to download the notice.

If your email address is incorrect or out of date, you may not receive:

  • Prohibition notices

  • Prohibition clearance notices

  • Regulatory correspondence from the Traffic Commissioner

What you need to do

If your contact details have changed:

  1. Sign in to your VOL account via the GOV.UK vehicle operator licensing service.

  2. Go to “Your account.”

  3. Check that your correspondence email address, telephone number and postal address are correct.

  4. Update and save any changes as required.

If you do not yet have a VOL account, create one here.
