From 1 January 2021, and absent any last minute agreement governing foreign citizens’ rights, EU, EEA or Swiss citizens who want to remain in the UK after 30 June 2021 should, subject to some minor exceptions, have been in the UK on or earlier than 31 December 2020. They will also normally need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.
