15 August 2019 is a notable date in the career of Stephanie Walkerdine; it’s the date she officially joined the roll of qualified solicitors at the Law Society. Having initially embarked on a university degree to study neuroscience, she quickly altered course and re-routed to study Law which has then been followed by a successful two-year training contract with Backhouse Jones.
During Stephanie’s training she has enjoyed various legal ‘seats’ within Backhouse Jones including defendant insurance litigation, corporate, road regulatory, dispute resolution and most recently employment.
Now fully qualified, Stephanie will continue to work within the firm’s employment department and is an immediate port of call for reviewing employment contracts, guiding on disciplinary procedures and running Tribunal claims.
When questioned about her training insights over the previous two years, Stephanie cites how much she has enjoyed engaging with the transport sector in the various legal teams she has worked with which has spanned professional attendance at hearings through to sector-specific dinners and events. She also comments that in terms of learning “the more public speaking and training you carry out, the less daunting it is!”
