Backhouse Jones announces newly qualified solicitors

Backhouse Jones is delighted to announce that Laura Campbell and Joanna Falk have officially qualified as solicitors after successfully completing their training contracts with us. Their journey from support roles to qualified solicitors is a testament to their dedication, hard work and passion for the legal profession.

Laura and Joanna’s careers at Backhouse Jones began in different capacities – Laura started as an Insurance Litigation Fee Earner, while Joanna joined as a Road Regulatory Secretary. Both quickly demonstrated their aptitude for legal work, which led them to progress into the Road Regulatory team as Paralegals, where they worked alongside each other, developing their expertise in the field.

Recognising their potential, both were offered training contracts commencing in March 2023 and September 2023. During their training Laura and Joanna undertook training within the different departments of Backhouse Jones, including Commercial Litigation, Employment, Road Regulatory, Corporate and Commercial, and Insurance Litigation.

Following the completion of their training contracts, both have chosen to qualify into their respective areas of expertise. Laura will continue to work in the Road Regulatory Department, utilising advocacy skills in Public Inquiries acquired in training to be both a Solicitor and an Unregistered Barrister, called to the Bar in 2013. Joanna will be practising as a Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation Department, representing clients in disputes and working towards achieving strategic and favourable outcomes.

Speaking about their training at Backhouse Jones, both Laura and Joanna expressed gratitude for the breadth of experience and high-level expertise they have gained. They highlighted the variety of engaging and hands-on work they were exposed to, from complex casework to learning from senior colleagues. Their training not only enhanced their legal skills but also equipped them with the confidence to take on their new roles as qualified solicitors.

As they embark on this next stage of their careers, we have no doubt that both Laura and Joanna will make significant contributions to their respective teams and continue to uphold the high standards of service that define Backhouse Jones.
