The DVSA have recently sent a circular saying that they have made changes to the code of practice which is used by DVSA examiners carrying out weight checks using the following methods:
• single and multi-plate weighbridges
• other non-dynamic weighing equipment
• dynamic axle weighers (including in static mode)
• portable weighpads
The areas the DVSA have made changes to the code in are:
• updates to legislative references
• the introduction of self-verification as an option for weighbridge sites – already widely used across other sectors of industry
• changes to allow an authorised enforcement examiner to measure the suitability of a temporary site for weighing using portable weighpads
