Backhouse Jones has continued to grow its top Road Regulatory team by recruiting newly qualified Amy Smith. Amy joined Backhouse Jones in 2016 and started as a Legal Secretary and worked her way up to Paralegal in the firm’s Road Regulatory team before completing her training contract and qualifying as a Solicitor 1 March 2023.
During her time at Backhouse Jones, Amy has developed a wealth of experience advising operators across the haulage, coach and bus sectors in connection with Operator’s Licence applications and variations, DVSA investigations and Traffic Commissioner Public Inquiries. Amy works closely with James Backhouse (Director) and has therefore assisted with cases involving some of the more complex regulatory road transport issues.
Amy is Mum to Isla and partner to Omar. In her spare time, Amy enjoys family days and socialising with friends (when Isla allows!).
