Drivers’ Daily Walk Around Check

A driver must undertake a daily walk around check of their vehicle (and trailer) before they commence driving each day and the operator must have a system in place for the reporting and recording in writing of any defects identified during those checks together with details of the rectification work undertaken. The Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness was updated in November 2018 and in accordance with this, new guides for walk around checks have been issued for HGV and PCV operators.
