Backhouse Jones is a market-leading specialist transport law firm, acting for clients across the UK’s road transport, bus, coach and haulage sectors. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (NQ – 5 years PQE) to join our highly regarded Commercial Litigation team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy and growing department, working with a respected client base across the transport industry.

The Role

You will work within our established commercial litigation team handling prominent commercial disputes, including high value breach of contract claims and judicial review claims.

 predominantly acting for clients within the bus, coach and haulage sectors.

Your work will include:

• Managing a caseload of low to medium value disputes
• Supporting senior lawyers on complex litigation matters
• Supporting senior lawyers on complex public law claims
• Delivering practical, commercial advice to transport sector clients.
• Building strong client relationships within the industry, including attending prestigious industry events.

About you

We are looking for a solicitor who:

• Is newly qualified up to 3 years PQE
• Has experience in commercial litigation
• Has strong organisational and case management skills
• Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment
• Demonstrates excellent communication and client care skills
• Is ambitious with a drive to progress
