Do you regularly tender for contracts with local authorities? Have you ever been unsuccessful in being awarded the contract but thought it was unfair? If you are ever in this situation, act quickly and seek legal advice otherwise you may be out of time to make a claim.

Under the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (‘the 2015 Regulations’) there is an overall time limit of 30 days to challenge the award of a contact, and if you wanted to prevent the contract from being entered into you would have just 10 days from the date you are notified of the award.

There are various remedies available to an aggrieved tenderer if they believe that the contract award procedure has been operated otherwise than in accordance with the 2015 Regulations, including damages or a suspension of the award of the contract.
