The Confederation for Passenger Transport (CPT) has recently reported that they received confirmation that essential Driver CPC periodic training in classrooms can be delivered to an operator’s own employees using their own trainers on their own site, across Great Britain. Operators are still encouraged to provide training remotely where possible.
The CPT also had confirmation that operators can provide on-bus Driver CPC training where they have conducted a risk assessment in line with their health and safety policies and can justify such training.
Bus and coach operators who are CPT members and who not able to meet the criteria and will struggle to maintain services as a result of Driver Qualification Cards expiring, are requested to let Keith Mcnally of the CPT (keith.mcnally@cpt-uk.org) have the relevant details.
