Operators should be aware that the DVSA’s load security guidance has just been updated. Operators need to know how to make sure the goods and other items that are loaded are secured and unloaded safely from HGVs and vehicles.
The DVSA have recently updated their guidance adding more detail and including further information on carrying out appropriate risk assessments on loads and making sure that, where needed, loads are sheeted correctly.
Changes to the guide
The DVSA request that operators make sure operators, their managers managers, transport managers and loading staff familiarise themselves with the new and updated information to make sure vehicles are loaded safely and appropriately.
The Categorisation of Defects has been updated to reflect these changes.
