Meet Emily – Our new corporate and commercial lawyer! 2 September 2022 shall stand out as one of the most notable dates in the careers of Emily Carpendale, as the date when she officially joined the roll of qualified solicitors at the Law Society.
Emily, having initially studied for a degree in Journalism, quickly altered course and went on to study Law at the University of Central Lancashire, before joining Backhouse Jones’ Regulatory department in July 2019. She commenced her training contract in September 2020, enjoying various legal ‘seats’ including Commercial Litigation, Regulatory, Employment, Corporate and Commercial, and Insurance Litigation.
Now fully qualified, Emily will be joining the Corporate and Commercial team, assisting with matters such as the buying and selling of businesses and drafting and advising on a variety of agreements.
Emily has very much enjoyed the last two years, engaging with a variety of clients in the transport sector and gaining valuable experience of working on large cases such as the RHA’s truck cartel claim, judicial reviews, substantial acquisitions and health and safety prosecutions.
