Backhouse Jones are delighted to announce that once again, they will be joining the Transaid London to Paris bike ride on 21st and 25th September 2023.
Transaid is a charity close to our hearts and we have taken part in many of their cycle rides and heled raise thousands of pounds for the charity. It transforms lives through safe, available, and sustainable transport. Founded by Save the Children, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and its Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, the international development organisation shares 25 years’ worth of expertise in 23 countries with partners and governments – empowering people to build the skills they need to transform their own lives. Transaid is a unique, passionate organisation that works with partners and governments and focuses on professional driver training, transport management systems, and rural access to transport to solve two of the biggest challenges in economically developing countries. They will leave from Greenwich Observatory and head to Newhaven where we will catch the ferry across to Dieppe, before spending two days edging our way ever closer to the iconic Eiffel tower and a victory dance! They will be cycling 187 miles (climbing 8,200ft) across three days, from London to Paris, experiencing magnificent English countryside and picturesque French rural landscapes, all from their saddles!
